![]() ![]() Overall, there aren’t many changes to speak of when it comes to Overwatch 2’s damage heroes. The increase in Wrecking Ball’s playtime could lead to a very disruptive and pick-focused meta, especially when paired alongside the rest of these hero changes. His mines now deploy faster and his Pile Driver ability has an even shorter “up” time alongside its new cooldown reduction. Wrecking Ball has been granted a large survivability buff, including an additional 150 shields bonus rather than just base armor and health increases. These changes will allow him to take more prominence in the meta-to-come, especially since these damage increases mean he can two-shot any 200HP character straight off the bat. Rein has received a damage buff to his Firestrike, a cooldown reduction on his charge, and an increased stun duration to his ultimate, Earth Shatter. Reinhardt and Wrecking Ball both in turn received heavy buffs this time around, enough so that they could possibly shake up the tank meta throughout all of Season 3. Rammattra ’s nerf includes the implementation of a maximum ultimate duration, regardless of if he comes into contact with enemy players, as well as a sizable increase in the cost of his ultimate. ![]() However, a few considerable changes include a revision to Rammattra’s kit, which specifically will see the harshest nerf by a long mile. This means that when in Open Queue or Arcade mode for example, all tanks will have lower health when compared to their standard values in Competitive and Quick Play.įor the most part, you’ll find that the majority of tanks have received no major changes, most remaining entirely untouched. Tanks will now receive health nerfs in any Non-Role Queue mode of play. This will place the winning team at more of a disadvantage and help re-level the playing field for both sides. Passive Ultimate Charge retainment has been reduced from 30% to 25%, nerfing retaliatory hero changes if teams lose the first team fight. Leaving plenty of room for their new replacements Antarctica Peninsula, Havana, and Numbani. However, with every good change comes some harsh goodbyes for some maps, as well as the return of a few well-missed fan favoritesīusan, Route 66, Watchpoint Gibraltar, and Hollywood have all been cut from the Overwatch 2 map pool. Season 3 will also mark the last time that map pools will be featured in Overwatch 2, as all maps will be available for free play come Season 4. ![]() This debut terrain will be replacing the former Busan control map from the available type pool for competitive players. ![]() One of those earnable skins is Overwatch's first-ever IP collaboration.Overwatch 2 Season 3 will feature a new control map called the Antarctic Peninsula. Blizzard will also be offering four skins earnable outside of the Battle Pass through in-game events. On top of that, nearly all the Epic and Legendary event hero skins from Overwatch 1 have been added to the Hero Gallery and will be available for purchase with either Overwatch Coins or Credits at a lowered price of 1,500 Credits (down from 1,900). The Premium track also receives an upgrade with 500 more Credits than in previous seasons. Season 3's Battle Pass promises more rewards for simply logging in and playing, with an additional 10 tiers of rewards on the free track, plus 1,500 Credits to earn for use in the Hero Gallery. Blizzard seems aware of the effect its Battle Pass has had on some longtime players and is taking some initial steps to try and rectify it. Though our initial impressions of Overwatch 2 were overall high thanks to its fun continuation of the Overwatch formula and gameplay, the longer we spent with the seasonal structure, the less excited we've become to log on each day. ![]()
